This map of low head dam locations in the United States is still in Beta and is far from complete. The information provided is still experimental and use of this data comes with the assumption of risk. DO NOT assume that all low head dams are mapped or a particular route is clear of obstructions.
The map shown is a compilation of state, local and volunteer mapping of these structures. Many of these are silent hazards that contribute to accidental drownings each year. Our project is to identify low head dams across the US so that they can be managed and properly maintained.
